Storytelling & Broadway Leadership Experience will be led and stimulated by a team that includes a wide range of professionals from the worlds of Workplace Development and Theater.

  • 8:30 AM: Registration and Greetings – Green Room Club (42nd Street and 10th Avenue, NYC)
  • 9:00 AM: Elliott Masie and Telly Leung will be the primary facilitators and interviewers. They will frame up a new and fresh approach to Workplace Storytelling – leveraging the experience, art, and science of theater and Broadway.

We include highly experienced artists and creative leaders from Broadway to engage with our group in the morning portion of the Leadership Experience. These will include:

  • Broadway Author/Writer – on the structure of a story
  • Broadway Director – on the rehearsal, preparation, and feedback for great storytelling
  • Broadway Stage Manager – on the logistics of making a story happen in any context with changing audiences
  • Broadway Actors – on the stages of making a story come alive with words, context, emotion, and even a bit of music
  • Corporate Storytellers – examples (live and by video) of storytelling in the workplace
  • Storytelling Goes Viral Expert – to highlight the viral nature of storytelling in 2019
  • Noon: Lunch at the Green Room Club 42 with discussions about Storytelling in our organizations, our lives, and our families.
  • 1:15 PM: We will take a short walk or taxi ride over to the Longacre Theater on 48th Street.
  • 2:00 PM: The PROM – The entire company (cast, creatives, and stage crew) of The PROM will kick into action a 2 ½ hour experience of storytelling. You will be in orchestra seats and part of the audience process. The PROM is co-produced by MASIE Productions and we are thrilled to leverage the backstory of this amazing show for content and context in our process.
  • 4:45 PM - 6:00 PM: Next door to the theater is our favorite Irish Pubs – Hurleys. Join us to for a debrief of the storytelling and production process from The PROM with free drinks/snacks to wrap up the one-day experience.
  • And Beyond: Storytelling & Broadway Leadership Experience does not end there! You will receive video clips in the following weeks that will highlight the Skills of Storytelling and are invited into a community chat room to continue our discussions and explorations.

The Storytelling and Broadway Experience LAB left me inspired and excited to start telling stories more strategically at work. The impact of a well-thought-out story – when used for business communication – cannot be underestimated. As a professional, I feel re-fueled and energized as a result of the Broadway and Storytelling LAB.
